This mortar and pestle are real green marble which makes it heavy and sturdy. Perfect for grinding herbs, medications, or whatever you wish to grind, except for an ax. Don't grind axes. It's way too troublesome. The simple design on the piece does not take away from the natural beauty of the marble itself.
